Yesterday, sixth and seventh-grade students from Rayen Early College Middle School embarked on an enriching field trip to the renowned Cleveland Playhouse Square. The students attended a captivating performance of "Look Both Ways," a play adapted from Jason Reynolds' book of the same name.
This poignant production weaves together the stories of diverse middle school students as they navigate their walks home from school. Through ten distinct vignettes, the play tackles complex themes such as bullying, family struggles, anxiety, and friendship, offering a nuanced exploration of the challenges inherent to adolescence.
The performance emphasized the importance of empathy and understanding, encouraging the audience to "look both ways" and appreciate the unique experiences of those around them. Our scholars thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
